Dosage: Once in the morning, evening and bedtime,

Organic Lavender Hydrosol Mist
in high dilution for birds

Birds are highly sensitive to pure essential oils (pure plant extracts) that are traditionally used in aromatherapy for humans and other animals. Therefore they are not recommended for avian use. Hydrosols or hydrolats are the safest way to treat birds with aromatic natural remedies.

Hydrosols are the by-product of the steam distillation process used for extracting the precious oils from flowers and plants. The hydrosols contain tiny water-soluble particles that possess many of the properties of the pure essential oil, but in a far less concentrated form. Even in this "diluted" form, the hydrosols must be diluted even further for safe avian doses. Until the recent discovery of the therapeutic benefits of these by-products, the hydrosols were discarded! Now they are being used extensively in aromatherapy treatments and products.

Organic Lavender Hydrosol

Description: 3 or 4 drops of Organic Lavender Hydrosol may be added to your birds' water water dish undiluted. Birds love to bathe and should be encouraged to spash in their hydrosol bath. Birds experiencing stress, especially from a molt should be treated with the mist and the hydrosol bath to alleviate the stress, soothe the skin, relive itching and help to break down the coating on the new feathers.
